Doosan Machine Tools is changing its name to DN Solutions as it refashions itself to be a total manufacturing solutions provider. The name change took effect June 2, 2022, and is said to signify a new start after its recent merger with DN Automotive, which became its parent company in January 2022. According to the company, the “D” in “DN” alludes to the 45 years of history built by Daewoo and Doosan, the predecessors of DN Solutions, along with DTR Automotive, the predecessor of DN Automotive. “N” represents “Now and New,” which it says is the will of the DN Group to open new paths by constantly taking on new challenges, rather than being complacent about past achievements. Precision Plus Earns Top Workplace 2022 Listing — Precision Plus has been named in the Top Workplaces 2022 list by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Top Workplace recipients are awarded solely based on anonymous employee surveys administered through third-party employee engagement provider Energage LLC. While completing the survey, employees answer questions about various cultural areas of distinction found throughout the organization — diversity and inclusion, motivating forces and overall company mission, vision and direction.

Methods Machine Tools to Open New Facility in Texas — Methods Machine Tools, a supplier of high-quality, high-precision CNC machine tools and automation in North America, will open a new production and distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas. Scheduled to open in February 2023, the 285,000-square-foot facility will serve as a flagship production, engineering and logistics hub from which Methods will reportedly continue to aggressively scale its North America business.

Platinum Tooling Distributing Hommel + Keller Quick Knurling Tools — Platinum Tooling is now the North American importer of the Quick knurling and marking tools from Hommel + Keller. The company imports and distributes live tools, angle heads, marking tools, Swiss tools and multi-spindle tools manufactured by various global suppliers.

Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation Announces Board of Directors — The Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation (WiMEF) has elected 22 members to its 2022 Board of Directors, whose terms began on April 1. WiMEF funds the Leadership Institute for Women in Manufacturing and STEM, the Leadership Consortium, the Management Development Program and the Empowering Women in Production Program, as well as a Virtual Learning Series that provides monthly webinars. These programs have helped thousands of women and men in the industry grow professionally and personally since the foundation’s inception.

Mazak Establishes New Distribution Partnerships — Mazak has created new distribution partnerships in northern Ohio, Virginia, southern West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Effective June 1, HEH Group subsidiary Motch & Eichele will provide sales and service support for Mazak customers in northern Ohio, while HEH Group subsidiary Crotts & Saunders will be responsible for the Carolinas, southern West Virginia and Virginia.

Sandvik Coromant Appoints New Members to Management — Sandvik Coromant has appointed two new members to its management group. Michael Eneberg will serve as vice president and head of Global Sales, and Nicolas Dellachiesa will join as Head of Merger & Acquisitions (M&A).
