Firetrace International's automatic fire suppression systems are designed to safeguard precision machining equipment by using clean agents to suppress fires right at their source. According to the company, these agents leave no residue behind and require no cleanup, which means there is no risk of damaging machinery and downtime is minimized. The systems require no electricity and provide 24-hour-a-day uninterrupted service. Unlike traditional fire extinguishers, Firetrace systems activate automatically and can suppress fires within seconds of the fire starting. The red Firetrace Detection Tubing (FDT) is the heart of the system. By routing the tubing throughout the machine, the system can detect a fire at its source and does not interfere with machine operation or maintenance. The placement of the FDT is said to reduce the system’s activation time and the potential for damage. The company says that, under normal circumstances, the FDT detects a fire 10 times faster than traditional methods and machines can often be back up and running in as little as 45 minutes.
