ERP Software on the Move
Desktop computers are becoming a thing of the past, whether we like it or not. “Mobility” is the key, and that’s true in manufacturing as well. Henning created a mobile app to use on a tablet or mobile phone right at the workcenter. The app eliminates the need for shop personnel to go elsewhere in the shop to input data into the system.
Desktop computers are becoming a thing of the past, whether we like it or not. “Mobility” is the key, and that’s true in manufacturing as well. Fast and convenient—that’s what most of us hope for, and mobile apps offer both of these benefits.
Wasted time away from workcenters is what the developers at Henning Industrial Software, Inc. wished to avoid when they introduced the iVET Mobile Application, which is tied to the company’s Visual EstiTrack ERP shop management software. Henning’s goal was to create a mobile app used on a tablet or mobile phone right at the workcenter. The idea is to eliminate the need for shop personnel to go elsewhere in the shop to input data into the system.
The iVET app also includes an employee portal where employees have access to their performance metrics. As they report their time and quantities, their efficiency is calculated so they can do a self-review of their productivity, including how many of their parts were good, scrapped, and so on, to determine their productivity and level of efficiency. They can check their job performance any time to see if they are on track to complete the parts required.
The app is also designed to integrate with Henning’s touch scheduling board that allows employees to create individual employee work assignments and manage workcenter schedules.
