The members of the PMPA Staff would like to comment on the passing of Jack D. McNaughton, CAE, PMPA's Executive Vice President from 1992 to 2001, our boss and our friend. Under Jack's guidance, the past 9 years were ones of personal growth for all of us as well as for the Association itself. We enjoyed working with Jack and learned much from him. In addition, we enjoyed his great sense of humor and know that his vision helped prepare the Association to address the many challenges ahead. As always, in his last weeks of life, Jack's concerns were for his family, his staff, and the Association and its members. Even as he faced his own mortality, he found the courage and strength to prepare all of us to carry on without him.
One project of particular interest to Jack was the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS), sponsored by the Precision Machine Products Association. Jack developed the concept for the Show and worked very closely with the PMPA Board of Trustees, Gardner Management and us to ensure its success.
He remained in contact with the PMPA Officers and his staff on an ongoing basis regarding the progress with the Show, providing direction and perspective. Jack was very pleased by the excellent supplier support of this first-ever event for the precision machined products industry. He was also quite honored to have the Show dedicated to him.
We will always miss Jack, but we will carry out his vision for PMPA to the best of our abilities in tribute to him. To Denise, his wife, and David and Daniel, their sons, our deepest sympathies.
