The International Trade Commission has decided to impose an antidumping order against stainless bar products from France.
Antidumping Decision. The International Trade Commission has decided to impose an antidumping order against stainless bar products from France. Ugine Stainless & Alloys is disappointed in the commission's vote and decision to cumulate Ugine's products with other imports. Ugine says that the dumping duties will have no material impact on its U.S. distribution company or its customer base. The company maintains that it has distributed its products fairly in the United States and has not caused injury to the petitioning producers.
Increased Assets. DeVlieg Bullard II, Inc. (Rockford, Illinois) owned by KPS Special Situations Fund, L.P., has completed the purchase of the intellectual property, machine inventory and aftermarket parts inventory of Motch Corporation (Cleveland, Ohio) and Cone-Blanchard (Windsor, Vermont) from their parent, Park Corporation. DeVlieg Bullard II has acquired the product lines associated with the Conomatic screw machine, Blanchard grinder, Springfield grinder and Motch turning machine. Motch and Cone's machine manufacturing and rebuilding businesses will be transferred to DBII's Twinsburg, Ohio, facility, and the after-market parts inventory will be transferred to DBII's Rockford, Illinois, facility. DBII will maintain a field service presence in Windsor, Vermont.
Welcoming Visitors. AMT Machine Systems will co-sponsor an open house in the Los Angeles, California, area on March 22 in cooperation with A.C. Behringer, Inc. The open house will feature the new AutoTripper system.The company says it is designed to reduce the cycle time and setup time on #2 and #3 Brown & Sharpe Ultramatic machines. Waste Not, Want Not. A new book will serve as a sort of handbook on how to reduce overproduction.
