Online ‘Virtual Hub’ from Sandvik Coromant offers a live EMO experience.

I’ve always operated on the premise that showing up is 80 percent of life. Well, sometimes one simply cannot “be there.” Cutting tool and tooling systems specialist Sandvik Coromant has an app for that.

In addition to its booth at EMO 2013 in Hannover, Germany, next week, the company will host a Virtual Hub digital exhibition on Tuesday, September 17, for those unable to attend the show. The Virtual Hub’s theater will host a number of webcasts during the show, including a live broadcast of the unveiling of an innovative technology that will set new standards for metalcutting performance. This will occur at 8 a.m. EST.

Visitors will also be able to engage in live chat sessions with Sandvik Coromant specialists based on the EMO Smart Hub. This includes two scheduled sessions. Mikaël Lövblad, business intelligence expert, Sandvik, will lead the first session from 4:30 - 5:30 a.m. EST, explaining how to optimize skills and knowledge. From 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. EST, Mia Pålsson, senior manager, product management, Sandvik Coromant, will discuss and offer more information on the latest innovative products for metalcutting.

Additional online resources available via the Virtual Hub include whitepaper downloads, brochures, videos and other materials that will be of interest to engineers and purchasers.
