Young Leaders met at PMPA Management Update.

The Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA) Management Update Conference concluded on Sunday (Feb. 28), and attendees took home a lot of valuable information from a series of excellent speakers and ongoing networking opportunities. In one of the more unique sessions, PMPA Executive Director Bernie Nagle assembled close to 30 individuals who considered themselves “young leaders” within their companies to discuss issues directly related to their demographic, from cross-generation communication to their perspective on succession planning to establishing credibility among their older peers both within their companies and throughout the industry.

This was the first session of its kind in the association, and it was designed as a brainstorming opportunity to allow participants to begin to establish what the goals of such a group might be. Beyond allowing these young leaders to further network among themselves in a round-table setting, Mr. Nagle helped to facilitate in-depth discussion of strategies for further engaging and energizing succeeding generations of company leaders.

The session was very well received, and participants showed great enthusiasm toward the potential contributions the group can make. Communication among the group will continue via social media outlets, and the Young Leaders will meet again formally at the PMPA National Technical Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, April 9 – 12.

This team will no doubt have a strong impact on the continued success of their own companies, the PMPA, and the industry as a whole.
