Makino has opened an international technology center located in Querétaro, Mexico. The center offers machine tool and part sales, local service, training and technology support and application engineering services.
The technology center oversees sales of the company’s line of machine tools and service support. The new technology center connects Mexico-based manufacturers with the applications expertise and high performance machine tool technologies needed to compete globally, the company says.
Local engineering services available at the facility consist of application engineering, global operation support and project management capabilities. New National Sales Manager
Rem Sales, exclusive North American importer of Tsugami Swiss-type automatic lathes, has appointed Scott Anthony as national sales manager. Mr. Anthony has more than 20 years experience in technical sales and marketing management. He has a thorough understanding of the selling process through a national distribution network, with a strong emphasis on customer care, the company says.

Sales Executive Focuses on Customer Service
Cincinnati-based Nolte Precise Manufacturing, a provider of custom machined components, has hired Matthew Jackson as its new sales executive. Mr. Jackson will build and strengthen relationships with Nolte’s manufacturing customers to provide excellent customer service and meet their component part needs.
Prior to joining Nolte, Mr. Jackson served as a division president for a manufacturing conglomerate in Mason, Ohio. He has also worked in new business development and as a sales representative. New Managing Director
Siegfried Knüpfer was appointed as managing director of Walter Maschinenbau GmbH, Tübingen, Germany. Joint Venture Dissolution
GE and Fanuc Ltd. have completed their agreement to dissolve the GE Fanuc automation corporation joint venture. This agreement reverts the respective portions of the joint venture back to the parent company and allows each company to focus on its existing businesses and pursue growth in its respective core industry of expertise. The two companies will now operate independently as GE Intelligent Platforms and Fanuc LTD.

Reseller Redirects to New Company

An Aqueous Acquisition
Jet Edge Inc. has acquired Calypso Waterjet Systems, whose products include waterjet cutting machines, abrasive removal, closed loop water and automatic height sensing systems; nesting software; plastic waterjet cutting bricks; bulk abrasive feeder tanks; and replacement parts for waterjet intensifier pumps, cutting heads, and waterjet tables. Company President Jude Lague says he plans to re-introduce many of Calypso’s products under Calypso’s brand names.

Partnership Strategy
