Fuji Machine’s CSD-300II front-facing twin spindle lathe is designed to be robust with increased rigidity and faster, easier, stronger operation. The company says the lathe provides quick and accurate turning of a variety of parts with turret index times as low as .19 seconds, robot cycle times of 17.9 seconds and loading times of 4.8 seconds. Operation and changeover is made easier and more efficient on the horizontal lathe due to a dual gantry robot and FANUC controls. It also features a custom HMI and single, integrated FANUC control panel for convenient operation and setup of the machine and robot. A clamp/unclamp switch for the robot chuck and the robot’s centralized lubrication system is included. The CSD-300II comes ready to connect to IoT, including the optional Fuji Lapsys desktop software, which reads scanned laser etchings to trace the origin of a part (including machine and spindle) and enables part traceability, predictive maintenance and remote operation. The lathe’s bed design has a grooving width of 14 mm for rigidity. It has a compact footprint of 2,260 mm × 1,980 mm and is said to accurately manage heavy parts Ø 200 mm × 100 mm and 5 kg + 5 kg. The CSD-300II also features a Fuji-engineered hydraulic clamping loader and 8"-10" capacity chucks.
