Vargus’ Groovex MicrOscope system for internal micromachining operations in bores as small as 1.0 mm (0.039”) now includes three new toolholder designs for increased clamping and versatility.
Vargus’ Groovex MicrOscope system for internal micromachining operations in bores as small as 1.0 mm (0.039”) now includes three new toolholder designs for increased clamping and versatility. Select micrOscope inserts are now available with coolant in different boring and grooving operations, also.
Insert features include shrink toolholders with newly designed grip for vibration reduction and long tool life, according to the company. Shrink toololders are available for all micrOscope inserts in 4-mm to 7-mm insert diameter. The round tools and double-sided round tools without the shoulder have a four-flat design; can be placed from both sides of the machine tools table and are available for all micrOscope inserts in 4-mm (0.157”) to 7-mm (0.276”) insert diameter. Double-sided round tools are available in 4 mm and 5 mm (0.157” and 0.197”) or 6 mm and 7 mm (0.236” and 0.276”).
Inserts with coolant features include high-pressure coolant-through tools, better chip evacuation that is said to be vital for secure machining in internal operations and long tool life. Applications with coolant include boring, boring with chipbreaker, boring with chip former, boring and profiling, square grooving and pre-part off.
