VersaBuilt’s CNC communication URCap is an interface for machine-tending applications with Universal Robots.
VersaBuilt’s CNC communication URCap is an interface for machine-tending applications with Universal Robots. The interface enables a UR cobot to execute machining programs stored on the machine directly through the cobot’s teach pendant. The interface maintains safety interlock features and is said to work with most automatic door openers.
The cobot can be combined with the company’s MultiGrip workholding system. The interface was designed to address the issues of working with traditional robot grippers and CNC vises, according to the company. It enables the robot and CNC machine to share machinable jaws for infeed, outfeed and machining, resulting in easy robot programming, fast setup times and enhanced processing capabilities.
