VIDEO: Automatic Virtual Metrology System
The Automatic Virtual Metrology System from FATEK (division of FEMCO) provides real-time measurements for producing high quality wheels and reducing defect rate.
FATEK/FEMCO's Automatic Virtual Metrology system for wheel automation lines can produce 37 wheels per hour.
As Industry 4.0 gains momentum, FATEK (a division of Far East Machinery Group, Femco), has developed an Automatic Virtual Metrology system (AVM) for wheel automation lines.
AVM is designed to provide real-time measurements for producing high quality wheels and reducing defect rate. The measured results are collected during the cutting operation and then can be uploaded to the cloud and stored in a big data server for future reference. They can also be instantly sent to designated operators or clients for better monitoring of the production process.
Tool compensation can be achieved during machining to reduce cycle time while maintaining higher quality and stability in the workpiece. More than 10,000 aluminum wheels have been tested with positive feedback. The AVM system has shown to reduce the labor required for quality control.
