With a supply chain management degree from Penn State University, Kelly McCambridge has helped her family’s business and her employer, Orrco, revamp its inventory management system. She installed a computerized system to track inventory, which in turn, has lowered inventory costs and increased inventory turnover ratio while still maintaining the necessary levels to keep customers satisfied.
Kelly began her career at Orrco in 2014 as its controller after working for a large chemical company. Her initial job assignments at Orrco were to assume the duties of the purchasing manager, to update the CAD system and to draw tooling prints. While continuing her original responsibilities, her work expanded to include job scheduling, sales and inventory management.
“She is quite adept in reaching and cementing important relationships with a new generation of buyers and purchasing agents at both the established and newer customers of Orrco,” says Kelly’s nominator and president of Orrco, Thomas Orr. “These relationships have provided the company the opportunity to expand its CNC capacity with new precision machine tools.”
Kelly’s most recent accomplishment, according to Mr. Orr, has been spearheading the complete revamping of the quality control program. The result of her efforts has been the company’s first ISO registration.
“I look forward to helping Orrco continue our 72-year family legacy and hope that my children will be the fifth generation to be involved with our precision company,” Kelly says.
