The Precision Machined Products Association's marketing committee recently revised its Buyer's Guide, which has been fully updated to include the latest information on the purchasing of precision machined products. The committee released this document via the PMPA Web site, and it is available to purchasers of precision machined products worldwide. By selecting the "Purchasing Agent" feature from the PMPA Web page, browsers will be taken directly to www.pmpa.org/agent/desguide/buyer.htm.
"The committee held a series of meetings and online collaboration sessions to bring the Buyer's Guide in line with today's manufacturing practices," said marketing committee chairman Jim Wrenn of Hudson Precision Products, Inc., (Broadview, Illinois). "This serves as an educational tool for customers of the industry, especially for those with high turnover in their purchasing staffs."
The committee would like to remind active members (contract manufacturers/job shops) to check the PMPA job shop members database www.pmpa.org/agent/jobshop to ensure that the correct information is included in your company's listing. (Some active members may not have returned data concerning the production capabilities of their operation.) If your company is interested in being a part of this database used by buyers of precision machined products, please contact Pat Orr at (440) 526-0300 or porr@pmpa.org.
Also, if you've not provided your company's Web address to the association so it can be linked to the job shop members database, please send that information to Pat Orr. (There is no charge to members for this link to the PMPA Web site.)
