PMTS Tech Talks to Focus on Skiving vs. Shaving, Deburring

The PMTS 2019 Tech Talk schedule includes presentations from Lester Detterbeck Enterprises on the differences between skiving and shaving, and Heule Precision Tools on deburring parts with cross holes.

Are you planning to attend PMTS 2019 this year? If so, don’t miss the PMTS Tech Talks to learn more about specific products and processes. The Tech Talks are brief, interactive presentations held on the show floor by industry professionals and leading equipment suppliers that will give attendees the knowledge to help improve their company’s processes.

John Detterbeck, president of Lester Detterbeck Enterprises, will give a presentation called, “Skiving and Shaving, Similar but Not the Same” that will highlight the similarities and differences between the two processes. He will discuss real world examples and show how making the right selection can affect the outcome. Listeners come away with a list of rules they can use to get the best results when faced with the decision to skive or shave. This Tech Talk will take place Tuesday, April 2 at 1 p.m. in the Tech Talk Theater in the back of Hall A.

Bill Hargrove, Heule Precision Tools’ national sales manager, will present a Tech Talk titled, “The Challenge of Deburring Parts with Cross Holes: How to Automate Your Processes for More Efficient Production.” This presentation will look at a wide range of situations involving cross holes, along with the automated tool solutions for deburring that have allowed manufacturers to save time and cut production costs. It is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 at 2 p.m. in the Tech Talk Theater at the back of Hall A.
