Marubeni Citizen-Cincom Accessories Provide Faster Cycle Times
Source: Marubeni Citizen-Cincom
Marubeni Citizen-Cincom features demonstations of engineered
accessories for Cincom and Miyano, and how they work intuitively
with Citizen machines.
The Tandem Thread Whirling Unit was originally designed
for complicated bone screw machining. It can be used on all
complex threaded components to run faster cycles and greater
throughput.
Adaptive Guide Bushings can be used in place of standard
guide bushings. Adaptive bushings adjust and maintain nonground
stock variance of tolerance, allowing for bar deviation
up to 0.008". Constant pressure guide bushings provide greater
rigidity and uniformity of setup, according to the company.
High-Pressure Coolant Systems are specialized for performing
deep-hole operations such as gun drilling and boring. The
systems deliver coolant to the tip of the tool, keeping the tool
and workpiece free of chips and increasing tool life.
Mist Control Exclusive Quadruple Pass ESP technology provides
efficiency in a compact, easy-to-install system.
The Hobbing Attachment makes gear production simple and
fast to program with Citizen controls.
Horn Toolholder Features Sintered Chipbreaker
Horn is presenting a sintered chipbreaking geometry for the Supermini
type 105. Designed for boring, profile turning, internal
grooving, threading, chamfering, face grooving, drilling and slot
broaching, the Supermini tool system can be adapted for various
machining operations. The solid carbide inserts are used for
boring from a diameter of 0.2 mm to around 10 mm.
Horn has developed the carbide blanks for the tool as a teardrop shape. This can enable large, precise contact surfaces in the toolholder, which can result in greater rigidity of the overall system. Furthermore, the teardrop shape prevents the insert from twisting, which can lead to consistently precise positioning of the center height of the tool. With long tool overhangs, it is able to reduce deflection and minimize vibration during turning. Horn offers the inserts in three different sizes (types 105, 109 and 110) and different blank types. All types enable internal coolant
supply directly to the cutting zone.
Index Corp. Turnkey Solutions Provide Flexible Performance
Index Corp. demonstrates its full range of high-precision machining solutions, which include the North American debut of its C200 FANUC, a cost-effective variant of its production machining center. The company also showcases the Index iXperience, its comprehensive portfolio of services that provide manufacturers with an optimized solution, from acquisition and installation of a single machine to development and delivery of a turnkey production system.
The C200 FANUC merges Index’s production turning center with a FANUC control. Powerful twin spindles achieve rapid material removal while the SingleSlide guide system offers a fast, dynamic response by providing two degrees of movement in one plane. The machine’s inclusion of a third turret enables dramatic productivity gains, as it can quickly move between spindles for high flexibility and cycle time minimization.
Hexagon’s AI-Powered Manufacturing Solution Reduces Programming Times
Source: Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence
Hexagon is showcasing Esprit Edge, an AI-powered manufacturing solution that is designed to to streamline workflows, simplify CNC machining processes, empower workforces and increase efficiency.
Esprit Edge aims to reduce reliance on highly skilled programmers and maximize the utilization of CNC equipment.
Schwanog Custom Form Tools Reduce Cycle Times
Schwanog manufactures custom insertable and solid carbide form tools made to order per customers’ part prints. Applications include grooving, drilling, milling and threading. These tools, which are manufactured in the United States, can reduce cycle times by as much as 40%, according to the company. Tools are ground individually according to customer specifications, and can hold a tolerance of as low as ±0.01 mm. They are designed to offer high quality and machining efficiency in the manufacture of precision parts for industries such as medical, automotive, aerospace and others.
SMW Autoblok Workpiece Positioning System Optimizes Milling, Grinding Operations
Source: SMW Autoblok Corp.
SMW Autoblok introduces the WPS XL (Workpiece Positioning System) featuring manual zero-point clamping, tailored for large workpieces and five-axis machining. It is used for milling, measuring and grinding operations. Designed with an emphasis on flexibility and speed, it is said that users can reduce their setup time by 90% or more with single quick actuation for rapid module operations in only three rotations.
The system features a pull-down force of 40 kN, holding force of 100 kN, maximum torque of 30 Nm and repeatability of less than 0.01 mm. The solid drive system comprises hardened components, while the three clamping slides can enable maximum hold during clamping. Additionally, the system features Proofline technology that is fully sealed against swarf and chips for low maintenance.
