GBM, AMT Launch MT United to Strengthen North American Manufacturing — Gardner Business Media (GBM) and AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) have launched MT United, a joint venture to empower North American manufacturers with data, analysis and strategic information for accelerating growth, innovation and global competitiveness.
The MT United venture is designed to encompass the entirety of manufacturing technology (MT) through industry-focused events, expansive media content, data and market intelligence products, coverage of IMTS – The International Technology Show, and public/private investment opportunities.

Sandvik Acquiring CNC Software Inc. — Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire U.S.-based CNC Software Inc., a provider of CAD/CAM software solutions for manufacturing industries and the creator of Mastercam, the most widely used CAM brand in the industry. CNC Software will be reported in the design and planning automation division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.

Emuge, Grob Systems Collaborate at Tech Center — Emuge-Franken USA and Grob Systems Inc. have formed a strategic partnership to serve as a resource for cutting tool applications. Emuge-Franken manufactures high-performance cutting tools, while Grob manufactures CNC machining centers, providing advanced 5-Axis solutions, expertise and support.
NSH USA Constructing New Manufacturing Technology Center — NSH USA Corp. (formerly Simmons Machine Tool Corp.) recently purchased land and buildings in Albany, New York, for the construction of a new manufacturing technology center. The property, which is located next to NSH USA’s headquarters, will support the expansion of the company’s current manufacturing footprint and accommodate the Niles Technical Application Center (NTAC).

Mazak Launches MPower Customer Support Program — Mazak is enhancing its customer care with the launch of its MPower customer support program, which is said to give manufacturers the tools they need to achieve business goals and ensure continued success. ScanTech Selects Verisurf for Solution Software Package — Verisurf Software Inc. and ScanTech Co. Ltd. have formed a partnership to provide comprehensive dimensional metrology solutions to customers worldwide. As part of the agreement, the Verisurf Scanning and Reverse Engineering Suite is bundled with each ScanTech 3D scanner sold.
