The Big Meeting On The Big Island

The “Big Meeting” is the PMPA’s annual meeting, celebrating the association’s 75th anniversary. The event will be held October 17 to 21, 2008, at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Waikoloa “The Big Island,” Hawaii. Of course, there will be special recognition of this tremendous accomplishment for the association and its membership. But this year’s annual meeting is not just another anniversary.

In today’s business world, there is great opportunity mixed with uncertainty. Come to the annual meeting and find out what oppor-tunities exist for your company in the global economy.

The “Big Meeting” will present speakers with expertise in economics, family business, politics, national security and more. The detailed information you’ll receive from these experts will help shape your strategic decisions for the months ahead and keep you ahead of the competition.

Who’ll be there? Hundreds of business owners, senior managers and spouses will take part in the annual meeting. This meeting attracts executive couples that understand the importance of building and maintaining a network of business associates who share the same interests and concerns.

What is the daily schedule? Each day, there is a networking breakfast followed by business sessions where attendees gain valuable information from the presenters and fellow attendees. In addition to the business sessions, there are group activities, such as tours, the PMPA Education Foundation Golf Outing, networking receptions and dinners.

How much is the registration fee and what does it cover? The first person from each company pays $1,490. (That includes the $995 company fee and $495 individual fee.) Each additional attendee pays only $495. The registration fee includes admittance to all business sessions, daily group meal functions and related conference materials. PMPA has not increased the annual meeting registration fees since 2006.

How much are guestrooms? PMPA has negotiated special group rates of only $195 for the garden/mountain view and $235 for the ocean view, plus applicable taxes and fees. The Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa recently completed a $155 million renovation.

Is this a “members-only” event? No. In fact, non-member partici-pation is strongly encouraged. Attending a PMPA national-level meeting is a great way to evaluate membership and learn more about the association’s programs and services. PMPA charges an additional $100 fee to non-members to participate in its conferences.

How can I sign-up? Visit the 2008 PMPA Annual Meeting Web site: http://pmpa.org/meetings/annual_mtg/. There, you’ll find PDF registration forms, or you can register online via a secure connection.  If you have questions related to the annual meeting, contact Rob Kiener, PMPA Director of Marketing and Communications, at (440) 526-0300, ext. 16, or send an e-mail to rkiener@pmpa.org.

Come celebrate your company’s success and the association’s 75th anniversary.
