Industry veteran, Greg Knight, will present a shopfloor demonstration on the “Power of Parallel,” highlighting the Lico turn-mill center. The demo is scheduled on Tuesday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m. in the Absolute Machine Tools booth 655 during PMTS.

The Lico machine is a 12-axis multitasking center that has the capability of using up to five tools simultaneously. Its 26.8-hp main spindle can synchronize at any speed with the machine’s 13.6-hp counterspindle, making the hand off between front turning and backworking operations seamless, as far as cycle time is concerned.

The machine’s Siemens 840D CNC has the flexibility to actuate the 12 axes in a variety of combinations to maximize production and flexibility, allowing the manufacture of complex parts in a single handling. Showfloor demonstrations continue to add a unique feature of PMTS, and they have grown in quantity with each edition of the show. They are free to attendees, as is the show itself.
