Cutting Tool Campaign Launch Showcases Turning Inserts

Contrary to the famous saying, when product launches happen in Vegas, they don’t stay in Vegas.

While it’s been said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, that isn’t the case with new product unveilings. Coming away from Iscar Metals Inc.’s campaign launch event on Saturday, February 10, there’s a lot to talk about.

Focused on the Logiq Iscar Chess Lines cutting tools product, the all-day event at the Sands Expo and Convention Center was presented by CEO Jacob Harpaz. Along with Gardner Business Media representatives Pete Zelinski from Modern Machine Shop, Christina Fuges from MoldMaking Technology and Michael Anderson from Automotive Design & Production, I had the pleasure of Mr. Harpaz’s deep dive into five product lines: the LogiqGrip, LogiqDrill, LogiqMill, LogiqHold, and, of course, the LogiqTurn.

LogiqTurn includes the Whisperline anti-vibration shank with exchangeable heads for different geometries of turning, threading, grooving and boring inserts; Logiq4Turn, a double sided insert with four positive cutting edges; AluPTurn, double sided positive turning inserts for aluminum; and the JetRTurn, a rigidly clamped holder with a through-coolant clamp directed to the cutting edge. As well, LogiqGrip also has the SwissCut, long reach inserts and tools for general applications on Swiss Machines; and the PentaCut, an insert with five cutting edges for parting and grooving miniature parts that can also do turning.

In 2018, these are products for the precision turned industry to keep an eye on.
