You might be under the assumption that your company is too small to reap the benefits of using social media. Well, you’re wrong. Jim Carr, president of CARR Machine & Tool Inc. in Elk Grove Village, Ill., tells his story of social media success in an article published by Medill News Service titled “Small Manufacturer Sees Big Gains from Social Media.” 

Although the article is 2 years old, Mr. Carr says it is still relevant and even more so. He recently told PM, “I have been a keynote speaker at Marketing Days at TMA (Tooling & Manufacturing Association) in Park Ridge, Ill., sharing my experiences with a Facebook page and PPC (pay per click advertising). I have crafted a simple, daily social media marketing campaign for my small manufacturing company that has significantly raised my SEO (search engine optimization) on organic Google searches for machine shops in our area.”

Mr. Carr was also featured in “Machine Shop Marketing” where he describes how Facebook advertising has brought him business.
