Mikron Tool COO Markus Schnyder, head of division for the Swiss tool specialist, has handed over the management of the company to his longtime associate, Elio Lupica. After leading the company for 24 years, Schnyder is retiring, but will still be available to the company in a consulting function.

Lupica earned a degree in business administration from the University of Lugano. He joined Mikron Tool in 2005 as the head of finance and controlling. Due to his keen understanding of processes and organizational talent, Lupica took over the management of the Agno, Rottweil and Shanghai sites in 2016. In addition, he also served as a deputy division head alongside Schnyder during that time.

Founded in 1998, Mikron Tool SA grew into a division of Mikron Switzerland AG with four facilities worldwide. Within 24 years, the company grew from 30 to 245 employees. At the heart of Mikron Tools is the technology and competence center for micromachining, trimmed for high performance, which is said to continuously provide groundbreaking new developments. In 2022, a new production hall with an area of 1000 m2 was commissioned at the headquarters in Agno to increase the production capacities for the Swiss precision tools.

The company says it is focused on continuing to expand its market position with a strategic vision and drive to innovate. To achieve this, Mikron Tool says it will continue to invest in the latest technologies to constantly optimize its high standards on quality and performance — all to offer profitable machining solutions.
