The Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA) is searching for a technical services manager. The PMPA is an international trade association representing the interests of the precision machined products industry. A critical function of this role is taking interest in and developing professional relationships with members of the organization to better understand the issues, challenges and opportunities facing PMPA precision machining shops. The chosen candidate will provide members with professional advice, potential solutions and concierge service for member inquiries via phone or online community. Candidate also assists with conference program development.
The right person for this job is smart and self-driven. The ideal candidate can answer precision machining technical questions with solution-based critical thinking. In addition to other member benefits and deliverables, this position provides technical content for monthly magazine and weekly podcast.
Qualifications include:
- Knowledge of manufacturing required, precision machining preferred
- Inquisitive, logical and critical thinker
- Love of discovery and sharing what you’ve learned
- Maintain and have a working knowledge of specifications, standards and technical documents
- Learn the supply chain and technical ecosystem for manufacturing operations such as raw materials, tools, workholding, fluids, software and additional processes
- Grow into an ability to stay informed and inform members of emerging issues in government affairs and regulatory that could impact their business
- Notify and explain impacts of various developments from a viewpoint of protecting the members/ industry from egregious regulation and legislation
- Maintain a resource of technical specifications and documents for sharing with members with questions. Add to resources as technology evolves
