In February, the management of the Tornos headquarters in Switzerland announced an alliance the company forged with Tsugami. Scott Kowalski, president of Tornos U.S., says, “The recent partnership agreements do not apply to the U.S. markets for Tornos or Tsugami. But the contracts do bring the entry- and mid-level positioned Tsugami together with the mid-level and higher-end positioned Tornos machines overseas in a relationship that will strengthen both companies globally.” Bradley Morris, president of Rem Sales, the North American importer of Tsugami machine tools, says, “Basically, there are two steps to the agreement. In the first contract, Tsugami is building an entry-level, single-spindle machine in China for Tornos to sell in Europe and Asia. In the second, Tsugami is distributing Tornos multi-spindle machines in Asia. Here in North America, Rem Sales will continue to exclusively sell and support Tsugami machines. The two companies and their sales support networks remain independent.” Contact Tornos at (630) 812-2040 and Rem Sales at (860) 685-3450.
