Eural says its 2077 Lead Free is the only aluminum alloy that has high mechanical properties and also excellent machinability. It has a thin chip-forming comparable to 2011 that makes it well suited to be machined on high-speed automatic lathes to achieve high productivity.
This aluminum alloy is just one of the lead free and free-cutting aluminum alloys that Eural has developed which is already compliant with the most restrictive limitations and also guarantee high machinability and productivity.

The 2077 Lead Free has Rm ≥ 69.6 Ksi UTS (exceeding 2024) and is said to be the best alternative option to many hard alloys such as 2014, 2014A, 2024, 2017, 2017A, 7020 and 7075. Depending on the final application, it can be an option to replace certain types of stainless steel, cast iron and brass.

The 2077 Lead Free does not contain tin (Sn) which in several 2000 series alloys is used to replace lead and improve the machinability. Tin, as the company says has been proved, causes weakness and cracking of machined parts when submitted to high stress or high temperatures (>320°F) and, due to its brittle nature, has the dangerous tendency to suddenly break without significant previous deformation (strain).
The company says 2077 Lead Free is a green choice because it is produced with a high content of recycled aluminum to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions, thereby maximizing the circular economy benefits.
