Kaiser Aluminum Alloy AA2111-T8 Excludes Lead
PMTS 2019: Kaiser’s aluminum alloy, AA2111-T8, is said to deliver on machining rates and compact chips without harmful lead contaminants.
Kaiser’s aluminum alloy AA2111-T8 is a RoHS-compliant unleaded alternative of the conventional AA2011 alloy. It is said to deliver the same machining rates and compact chips as the conventional 2011-T3 alloy without the addition of lead. In an environment of increased regulation, this alloy is designed to be a solution for machinists and processors that strive to comply with RoHS requirements and eliminate lead from the supply chain.
In addition, the revised ASTM specification B211/B211M will include AA2111-T8. RoHS compliant, high machining rates and compact chips make this an alloy to explore, according to the company.
