Swiss Steel Group has announced its new Ugima-X martensitic and duplex steel product ranges to extend its Ugima-X austenitic grades.

Swiss Steel Group has introduced several new Ugima-X grades at its French subsidiary Ugitech, including Ugima-X 4021 and Ugima-X 4028 in the martensitic steel family. These grades are said to offer increased hardness and superior wear resistance. In addition, the company has added Ugima-X 4460 to its duplex steel product range, which is designed for easy machinability despite duplex steels’ reputation for being difficult to machine.

The new Ugima-X grades provide reproducible behavior during machining,  offering higher productivity and optimal adaptability to the various cutting conditions on automatic and CNC machines. Due to an optimized balance of elements, such as sulphur and oxides, these steels ensure optimum chip splitting and a longer service life for cutting tools, as well as enable more efficient machining.
