The Tendo E Compact is a Universal Hydraulic Toolholder
Schunk’s Tendo E compact is a universal toolholder for applications such as milling, drilling, and reaming.
Schunk’s Tendo E compact is a universal toolholder for applications such as milling, drilling, and reaming with extended lengths in CAT 40 (4”) and CAT 50 (6”). Both work with long reach applications and in multi-axis machines, the company says.
This hydraulic expansion toolholder can transfer torques of up to 520 Nm (384 foot-pounds) at a 20-mm clamping diameter and are suited for high volume cutting.
With vibration damping and runout accuracy of less than 0.003 mm (0.0001”) at 2,5 × D, the compact protects the machine spindle and the cutting tool from damage. According to the company, the hydraulic expansion toolholder works across the application range from rough milling to finish operations such as reaming and fine milling.
In roughing operations, tool cost reductions of up to 40 percent have been achieved and tools can be changed with an Allen key. Common spindle connections are available, including interfaces HSK-A63, SK40, BT40, CAT 40, and CAT 50.
