Porta Solutions recently opened the doors to its new Flexible Production School facility in Brescia, Italy. More than 100 guests, including customers and potential customers and others interested in the opportunity for furthering education and expertise in production machining, attended the grand opening event.

The first course, a 3-day event scheduled for July 17, 18 and 19, will first focus on theory, covering the fundamental criteria of flexible production and the actions needed to produce only the quantities sold, in a lean way, as well as how to decrease stock levels.

After the theory lessons, the course moves into practical experience using a flexible machine that is dedicated to the school for applying what is studied in the classroom. Activities are designed to simulate a production environment, implementing 15-minute production changes from one component to another.

The course is structured for only 10 people at a time so each participant can have the opportunity to interact with the technical tutor to take full advantage of the theoretical and practical course work.
