Emerging Leader Carina Nehring Brings Positivity and Motivation to Her Team
Carina has developed several HR policies and is currently working on an aggressive plan to roll out a leadership training program.
Carina moved to Canada about 10 years ago from Germany, and since then, her career path has led her to Harmonic Machine Inc., where she has created a company culture and work atmosphere that is positive and motivating, as the company’s human resources manager.
Since Carina began working at Harmonic, the machine shop has seen rapid growth, doubling twice under her leadership. She has managed to hire, train and lead a group of about 50 people through some challenging years. She has developed several HR policies and is currently working on an aggressive plan to roll out a leadership training program. She has also brought together diverse individuals with various skills and backgrounds to create a cohesive team that works together well.
“Despite her having English as her third language, she displays an amazing ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a simple and relatable manner, convincing and motivating people to work together for the best of us all,” says Nathan Neels, CEO of Harmonic Machine, and Carina’s nominator. “Under her leadership, we have developed systems to become more efficient, systems for continuous improvement, systems to teach and train our employees and an outstanding employee benefits program. Each person here has had their lives positively touched by Carina's influence. Her natural ability to lead people is beyond what I have ever seen before.”
In her spare time, Carina enjoys studying and learning about leadership and management. She participates in an active church community and tries to volunteer as much as she can.
“Manufacturing is an exciting world, and I love getting the youth inspired and involved as much as possible,” Carina says.
