Greenleaf-360 Solid Carbide End Mills for Increased Tool Life, Productivity
The submicron grade is said to provide great toughness and wear resistance that offers customers one grade that can be applied in many different applications.
Greenleaf-360 high-performance solid carbide end mills are designed to provide increased tool life and productivity, and are said to complement the XSYTIN-360 line of solid ceramic end mills. The solid carbide end mills combine a flute design with a high-performance carbide substrate, which is said to enable fast and efficient material removal with less stress induced into the part.
It is said the mills’ combination of strength, toughness and heat resistance enables machining capabilities from roughing to finishing with extended tool life and predictability. Also, the end mills have shown speed and feed performance 25-50% higher than the competition with extended tool life, the company says.
The end mills use a substrate that has proven capability in a wide variety of materials, from low-carbon steel alloys to heat-resistant alloys, the company says. The submicron grade provides great toughness and wear resistance that offers customers one grade that can be applied in many different applications.
The PVD coating which is standard on all Greenleaf-360 end mills is said to provide enhanced productivity and performance. The coating offers a low coefficient of friction with a high service temperature range, a combination which is said to result in high wear resistance and enables higher speed capabilities, especially in heat-resistant alloys.
The end mills design is said to reduce cutting forces and provide maximum material removal. They come in a full line of 4-, 5- and 7-flute configurations to provide solutions from full slotting to high-speed machining. Extended shank length options enable effective completion of long-reach applications. The high-performance substrate and coating combination is said to offer versatility in machining various workpiece materials. The line includes regrind capabilities to like-new condition for added cost savings and value.
