GWS Tool Group’s Micro End Mills for Medical Applications
PMTS 2023: The HexaMill micro end mills are well suited for milling medical-grade bone screws and Torx bit sockets.
GWS Tool Group’s series of HexaMill micro end mills are designed for the milling of medical-grade bone screws and Torx bit sockets. Available in diameters from 0.2 mm to 1.0 mm, the 2150 HexaMill series is configured to accommodate Torx-type sizes from T4 to T30.
The Hexamill end mills feature premium submicron grade carbide substrate for wear resistance and a proprietary FX7-microcoating for small-diameter end mills. This high-performance coating is said to excel in difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel and titanium.
A high maximum operating temperature of 1,100°C and a refined coating thickness are said to ensure minimal edge rounding. It can be paired with GWS’ 4060 HexaDrill series for complete processing of medical bone screws.
