Kelch’s retrofitting service for its Kenova line of tool presetters offers customers a general equipment overhaul within a cost-effective, sustainable process. The company says retrofitting can even make equipment Industry 4.0-compliant, depending on the model.
According to the company, there is usually a focus on a general overhaul when companies are considering modifying IT infrastructure, changing PCs or upgrading instruments for networking within digitalized structures. For companies looking to integrate equipment into Smart Factories and the cloud, the company says retrofitting can be a lasting and cost-efficient solution.
During a retrofit, Kelch replaces critical components — such as camera technology, PCs or drive assemblies — and switches to the current software, giving customers a sustainable, virtually new, more intelligent device within a day, the company says.
The retrofitting service applies to almost all generations of Kelch tool presetters still in use. It is said even the Kalimat and Trabant models, some of which were manufactured before 2000, can be successfully upgraded.
The retrofitting enables new functions and interfaces. When replaced, the company says many components can be integrated with new functions, making the equipment compatible with Industry 4.0 standards and future-proofing it, thanks to the interface technology. Also, companies do not need to procure new equipment for a retrofit.
Kelch offers an individual consultation in addition to the general overhaul such as when companies are considering integrating a used device into a new IT environment or into recently networked processes. Kelch says it also has a range of additional components, software and accessories facilitating customized extensions and adaptations.
