Starrett Wireless DataSure 4.0 Offers Secure, High-Speed Measurement Data Collection
Advanced wireless data collection system for acquiring precision measurement data features extended range, data security, multiple gateways, compact size and high speed.
L.S. Starrett Co.'s DataSure 4.0 is an advanced wireless data collection system.
L.S. Starrett Co. says its DataSure 4.0 is an advanced wireless data collection system for acquiring precision measurement data that features excellent range and data security, multiple gateways, compact size and high speed.
The DataSure 4.0 System operates on wireless networking technology that uses short-wave radio frequencies to interconnect cell phones, computers and wireless electronic devices, enabling much faster speed, greater bandwidth and longer range for higher data throughput. It can transmit data hundreds of yards, which is useful in larger manufacturing operations or multiple facilities.
DataSure 4.0 features higher bit rates and a high-speed connection of less than 50 ms of data travel time, and has a low-latency network that enables high data volumes to be processed without delay, even at full capacity. It offers multiple gateways which serve as central or distributed points for data collection, versus conventional systems that have only one gateway. The compact gateways and repeaters can easily fit in the palm of a hand.
The company says the system is built on a secure, proprietary wireless platform in which transported data is encrypted using a multilayered approach that prevents outside access to the data, whether passive or active.
Network topology can be configured to many simple or complex situations, and distributed remote gateways can also be utilized. Data is transmitted from gages that have either built-in radio transmitters or externally mounted end nodes to gateways.
The system is operable on Android or IOS mobile platforms and Windows-based computers. DataSure 4.0 repeater and bridge components can also connect directly to PLCs and other high-speed serial automation equipment for real-time data collection or remote machine operation. The DataSure 4.0 End Nodes include an IP67 level of protection for use in harsh shop environments and are rechargeable, thereby eliminating battery replacement and associated costs.
