Master Magnetics Batons Pickup in Hard-to-Reach Areas
PMTS 2019: Magnetic retrieving batons from Master Magnetics Inc. remove fine metallic filings, turning or shavings created by cutting tools and machinery.
Magnetic retrieving batons from Master Magnetics Inc. remove fine metallic filings, turning or shavings created by cutting tools and machinery. The batons are designed with permanent neodymium magnets housed in stainless steel, non-corrosive housing, and work in both wet and dry environments, according to the company. They are available in four models ranging from 16" to 41" in length and 0.50" to 1" diameters.
The baton shape enables easy pickup near corners, shelves and other hard-to-reach places. Once metal debris is collected, a pull of the handle releases materials to a designated area. An adjustable debris guard helps shield hands from sharp debris and keeps materials from following the magnets up the housing when releasing collected debris.

Why Are We Writing About a Shop Making Custom Baseball Bats?
I recently learned about a 153-year-old manufacturer that has produced billions upon billions of precision, metal pins which started another business making one-off wooden baseball bats. (Like I asked it to do for me and you’ll see at this year’s Precision Machining Technology Show). Here I explain why it’s worth the time to read that article.
